During our 2024-25 season, about fifteen young pianists from SSWPA were honored to share their music with residents at three senior living communities in the Pittsburgh area: Little Sisters of the Poor, Canterbury Place, and Sherwood Oaks. Works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, Debussy, Bartok, and Copland, among others, were enthusiastically received. Our duets were particularly popular.
This 2025-2026 season, beginning October 28th, we will have our first concert at Little Sisters of the Poor in Pittsburgh, who have invited us back for a third year!
Last year, our most senior audience member (103!) expressed great pride in seeing members of the younger generation performing. Another added, “Whenever I see young people like you, I feel very proud.”
